DC/ Baltimore/ NOVA Strobist Meet up 3/2/2008

America's Next top modelSean and I had an amazing time at our first local Strobist meet up at a member's farm. We got to meet some awesome people and attempted to improve our lighting skills. This is one of the shots I was really happy with. Our two models, Noelle and Kate, were absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to work with them again!
The lighting set up for this shot was pretty easy. The time of day was not ideal for an outdoor, non-shaded shoot, but I positioned the model directly in front of the sun and then placed a bare vivitar 283 flash to the model's left, at a 90 degree angle to the sun. The shot turned out pretty with straight out of the camera, but a little photo-shop action really made the pic a winner in my opinion.
Sean also got some great shots which can be found on our flickr site. If you have any questions about the set up or PP, just let me know. And please check out the work of my fellow strobist's at http://www.flickr.com/groups/dcbaltimorestrobist/ There were a lot of cool people there with really good photography skills.
